After claims made that the Playstation 3's lifespan could be as short as 10 years, naturally there are rumors and whispers about the possibility of a PS4 in the not too distant future.
Since Sony first announced plans to bring out the Playstation 1, intense rumor and debate has followed the release of each new console, discussing the idea that the 'next in line', is not too far away. With that said, it should come as no surprise that after just a few years of the release of the much awaited PS3, the internet is awash with casual gamers discussing the possibility of a Sony PS4.
However, despite all this rumor and discussion, the SCEE President David Reeves has brushed off claims that the PS4 is currently in development. He says: "I’m not even sure if that’s being considered, It’s certainly nothing I can talk about. I have absolutely no knowledge of it whatsoever. Not even sure it’s being planned."
This statement is likely to cause disappointment amongst gamers who had been anticipating a possible 2010-2012 release date for the Playstation 4 console. Nevertheless, with Microsoft already confirming to the media that their new console is deep in development, and sales reported dwindling for the PS3 console, can Sony afford to wait much longer?
ThePS4Forums View: Take this statement with a pinch of salt. The PS4 is surely coming, as for it's release date however, well, it looks as though we are going to have to wait a little longer for that.
