Could Playstation 4 Go 3D?

Do you think we could see 3D playing a major part in the future Playstation 4 console? It's recently been confirmed that MotorStorm Apocalypse will be coming to the PS3 with 3D support. Do you think this is solid proof that we will slowly switch over to 3D gaming, perhaps with it coming into full effect when the Playstation 4 is released - whenever that may be.

Sony is making the last couple to few years of the PS3's life-cycle focused on getting 3D to the point where it has mass market appeal, so it is pretty apparent to me that Sony is trying to set the stage for the PS4 to not have the uphill battle that the PS3 had with making the HDTVs sell on a mass market level.
If it wasn't fully 3D capable I would be very surprised seeing as Sony will continue to sell 3DTVs.

I honestly do not see what is so spectacular about 3D. While it seems pretty cool at first, you can become accustomed to it so quickly that it has no effect. It does not help that it hurts my eyes after I have been wearing those glasses for a long time as well.

That being said, from a business point of view, it is clear that the future is 3D and I would be surprised if Sony did not include it in the PS4.

I believe if Sony wants the PlayStation to survive, it's going to have to do something major like this.

yeh i think it may do but i would like it if sony could take it one step further and go VR,

Hope not, 3D is simply a gimmick to me. Once the novelty wears off (again) no one will care about it.

I agree with this. Games just need better graphics There's no need for 3D yet, especially when the 3D itself isn't yet up to par.

I'm not necessarily a 3D supporter, but I think it's a near certainty that the PS4 will at least have 3D capability... it's just the next advance in technology.

it's looking highly likely, with both Sony's PlayStation brand 3D TV and their new Sony Personal 3D Visor...
