Is the exercise any fun?

Do you really feel like actually punching something or the whole point of videogames to let you play with a proper joystick/controller.
I would personally much rather use the controller than have to put in the effort to punch someone, but then again, being part of the action is pretty cool, as long as it's not a terrible simulation.
