Typo on official Sony website makes the internet awash with PS4 hype and rumor
The European Playstation.com website recently sent casual gamers into hype overdrive, after making a typing error, adding PlayStation®4 as opposed to PlayStation®2 in a question asking "Do you own any of the following". This typo was quickly corrected, but it has left many people thinking.
An important thing to consider is the fact that the #2 and #4 key are not immediately next to each other on the traditional keyboard. Sure, they are within distance of each other to make the idea that this was simply a typing error believeable, but it also leaves enough doubt to consider other possible explanations.
Of course, Sony will brush this off as a simple erorr. They are still trying to market the idea that the PS3 has many years to come in an effort to increase console sales. But this 'typo' certainly makes you wonder, did the author of the question have the Playstation 4 in mind? It's unlikely this story will develop further, but if nothing else it still keeps hopes alive of a late 2011 release date for the upcoming console.
