Xbox 720

We have just added our Xbox 720 page to the main website. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the next Microsoft may actually be called the 720 or is it just a creative name made up by the gaming community?

In my own personal opinion, the next Xbox will most certainly not be called the 720 - but while it's widely known under that name, I guess we should stick with it for now until we hear anything official from Microsoft.

I think it is more likely that an "Xbox 720" is in the distant future. I believe Microsoft is planning on using Kinect as their "next generation Xbox." I remember several months ago Aaron Greeberg claimed that Kinect would extend the 360's lifecycle by another five years and judging by the amount of ridiculous promotion they are putting into Kinect (half of E3 and so far most of TGS) it seems like they are pretty serious about it.

I think Kinect is gonna fall flat. Its not gonna be big enough to support Xbox as next Generation type of thing. Its just a detour and delay for X720 to come out later. Likely by 2013 all three next consoles will be out or announced. E3 2011 first one will be announced. Maybe more. All within the past year. Nintendo is rumored to have been talking to NVIDIA, Microsoft is said to have a new deal with AMD/ATI, and Sony is rumored to be in talks with Intel and or Imagination Tech for Larrabee 2.0 or PowerVR 6 GPU lineup. So its likely by 2011 or 2012 we will have solid picture of next Generation consoles.

I believe Xbox 720 will likely be 720. Why not just doulble the number. Although I have thought about the possibility of them calling it the 460. If you think about it 460 wouldn't be a bad way to name the next Xbox. AMD and NVIDIA only go up by 100 when they name their next GPU. Its possible.

i hate everything microsoft has for gaming, they just screw it up....you should have seen my friend the other day when he got the red ring of death

Me too. Only thing they ever try to push out there is Halo and Gears of War. Nothing new or different.
