A major announcement that is eagerly being awaited is a release date for the Playstation 4. Until there is a formal announcement from Sony we can only assume what the Playstation 4 will be capable of, when it will be released and what it will look like.
The countdown has already begun: As the first console the PS1 was released in 1994, the PS2 was released in 2000 and the PS3 was released in 2006. So the release date for the new console is estimated at late 2012.
